EFAFLEX offers a wide range of solutions to professionally seal sensitive areas with their clean room door systems in Classes 5 to 7 which are certified according to DIN EN ISO 14644-1 and VI 2083. This means they can support industries such as chemicals, pharmaceuticals and the semiconductor industry to ensure their production quality. Their latest addition which adds to the already largest portfolio on the market, offers a door solution which is certified according to ISO Class 7.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\r\n

\u201cThanks to our ISO 7 Certificate, we are now offering our customers a T\u00dcV-tested door which fulfils the specific requirements of this class of clean room, while continuing to meet the highest standards of quality,\u201d explains Jan Hauffe, Head of Product Management at EFAFLEX, when adding the new product to the EFAFLEX CR portfolio, making it the most extensive available on the market to date. \u201cThis allows us to offer our customers the maximum range of clean room services; something our customers welcome.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

High demand for clean room doors<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ISO 14644-1 currently categorises air purity in enclosed spaces into nine classes. Class 1 has the strictest requirements in terms of air cleansed of particles, while class 9 has the lowest requirements in this respect. ISO class 5 has the strictest criteria for the use of clean room doors which can still be fulfilled using roll-up doors. This defines the upper limit of a maximum of 3,520 particles with more than 0.5 micrometres (\u00b5m) per cubic metre of air. \u201cOur Class 5 door has been very popular for many years,\u201d explains Hauffe. As a general rule, this special high-speed door is used in clean rooms with the most stringent requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Different requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The demand for certified doors for adjoining rooms with less demanding ISO classes is also increasing. Among other areas, they are finding use in air-locks and rooms that have defined cleanliness criteria. With the increasingly extensive requirement for companies to demonstrate the highest standards of seamless product quality, also surrounding the conditions of production and transport, the demand for official and independent certification is also increasing. \u201cCertificates have become extremely important. We are, of course, also responding to this demand with our new, certified Class 7 door, the EFA-SRT CR-C,\u201d explains Hauffe.<\/p>\n\n\n\r\n

Technical adaptations to a classic design<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Hauffe, the basis of the EFA-SRT CR-C ISO 7 is a door which already has a strong track record. \u201cFrom the technical perspective, we changed one thing: the position of the control.\u201d This was originally integrated intelligently in the door design. In the new ISO 7 version which has recently joined the Series, the control is located in a control box which can be attached adjacent to the door or via a suspended ceiling, for example. \u201cIn the higher purity classes, components are omitted on which dust and other particles can be deposited,\u201d explains Hauffe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A difference in price rather than quality<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Class 7, lower specifications are possible, which means that it isn\u2019t necessary for all the features of Class 5 or 6 to be used. With the separation of the door control, it was possible to create a more cost-effective version. This makes the difference that the customers want,\u201d explains Hauffe. A difference in price rather than quality: \u201cThis version is also an excellent high-speed roll-up door which fulfils the requirements of these areas.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Key competitive factor<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exceptional strength and durability, which are traditional characteristics of the EFAFLEX products, also show their worth on the roll-up doors that are suitable for clean rooms: As Hauffe explains, doors of this kind must withstand the prevailing pressure conditions on a long-term basis and also offer reliable sealing. \u201cJust one particle of dust or a draught of air can result in contamination and render a whole production batch unusable.\u201d The experts at the leading door manufacturer are well aware of the high demands placed on clean rooms, and are exceptionally qualified in this field.
